Altenew Inspiring Quotes Stamp Cards

Hi there folks, I have a post up on the Altenew Card Blog today and wanted to share it here as well. I won’t be sharing quite as many how-to details here, so if there’s anything you’re wondering how I did, just click on over to there!

Although I’m focusing on the Inspirational Quotes stamp and die set, I incorporated several other sets because I do love the “scrapbooking” style of card making where you pile it on for a busy, scrap-card sort of vibe.

Besides the common element of the stamped-on-vellum-and-silver-heat-embossed-Inspirational Quotes Stamp set on all of the cards, I used a color scheme of white, green, kraft and silver on each one.

Card #1 features the center of the large stamp image in the set, stamped onto vellum paper with embossing ink and heat set with silver embossing powder (as alluded to above) then die cut with the coordinating die set. While I was die cutting, I also cut the shape from a piece of kraft cardstock that I adhered to the top of the card base, then fit the embossed vellum die-cut into.

I also stamped and heat embossed some of the other leaves in the stamp set, and tucked them under the edge of the floral arrangement. To that, I added two sprigs of leaves die cut with the Just Leaves stand alone dies, cut from green cardstock in my stash.

I stamped one of the several heart-felt sentiments included in the Inspirational Quotes (hence the name), and heat embossed with the same silver powder. Before permanently affixing the kraft and vellum die cuts at the top, I wrapped some silver thread and green silk ribbon (old stitching stash, sorry) twice around and tied with a knot.

Cards #2 and #3 start off the same way, with some embossing paste and a stencil. I used the Patchwork Kite stencil for the card above, and once dry, added other die cut components over top.

(The photo weirdly accentuates a slightly off-color shade for the embossing paste and the vellum that isn’t present in real life.) I added some white and green cardstock die cuts from the Parlor Palms die set, and some Fresh Leaf ink stamped and die cut leaves from the Vase Fillers set.

From kraft cardstock I die cut two frames using the Fine Frames Square dies set, the greeting from the Signature Words set and a leaf in the bottom corner from the Just Leaves dies set. I layered them in random order so that various pieces are hidden beneath or layered above.

Lastly, this card starts with embossing paste and the Square Weave Pattern stencil. Then I added more of the Parlor Palms die cuts, a Vase Fillers leafy branch and the bud and leaves images from the Inspirational Quotes stamp set.

The kraft cardstock die-cuts include some circles from the Fine Frames Circle Dies, and the smallest of the tag dies in the Terrific Tags die set. For the greeting on this card, I die cut the word portion of the Framed Thanks die and trimmed it out of it’s surrounding frame. I added a tie of silver thread and green ribbon on the fishtail tag.

That’s it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a lovely day!
