Hi, hello! It might be the tail end of the Holiday Card making season, but I have a couple more cards to share with you! I’m up on the Altenew Card Blog today with a Festive Foliage post and the fun thing about it, is the techniques and inspiration can easily be translated to other themes and occasions!
I used the Festive Foliage stamp set to stamp each of these cards onto watercolor paper, with embossing ink and white embossing powder.
For both cards, I used the Watercolor 36 Pan set to paint lime-green and blue-green stripes across the tree, adding the second color of stripes before the first had dried so that they would blend nicely.
For one card, I die cut the entire stamped, embossed and painted tree, then cut it into strips about 3/8th” – 1/2″ wide before reassembling them onto a panel of watercolor paper that I had dry embossed with a Taylored Expressions Leafy Vine embossing folder. I stamped a sentiment from the Festive Foliage Stamp Set onto a watercolor paper scrap, heat embossed with Platinum embossing powder and die cut it with the coordinating heart die. I popped it up with a layer of fun foam behind and added it to the center of the tree.
For the second card, I left the painted tree in the center of the watercolor panel, then die cut the heart shaped opening in the middle of the tree, using the coordinating heart die from the Festive Foliage Bundle. I added paint splatters to the dried tree using the same colors of paint that I’d used on the tree itself. Next, I stamped the sentiment onto some coordinating cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then popped up the back of the stamped panel with foam adhesive and adhered it over top of the sentiment cardstock, allowing a small mat to show around the panel as well as the heart in the center.
Both cards are finished with some matte enamel dots from my stash. That is it for me with the Holiday cards for this year! Thank you for your continuing interest in my paper crafting pursuits! Please have a safe and happy holiday season!!
