Hi there, I’m up on the Altenew blog today and I’m sharing some cards that feature the Altenew Gradient Cardstock Sets plus a few beautiful stamp sets!
I’m venturing into the colored cardstock strips trend with these cards and I kinda love it!
For the first card, I eyeball-cut strips of all the colors of cardstock in the Sea Shore Gradient Set (approximately 1/4″) and adhered them to some sticky paper before die cutting the letters with the Fine Alphabet Die Set.
To keep the focus on the color gradation, I made a background of simple black & white by stamping two of the images from the Simple Beauty Stamp Set with Obsidian Black ink.
Then, being mindful of where the colored gradient “YOU” would go, I added the “thinking of” stamped phrase (from the Build-A-Flower: Lavender Stamp Set) with the same black ink.
I trimmed the card panel to reveal a coordinating blue mat around the card and added some matching blue enamel dots to finish off the card.
Once I saw how good the monochromatic gradient looked, I had to try a complete rainbow! I cut the strips a little narrower to allow all seven colors to fit within the height of the alphabet dies.
I die cut the word “friend” and added a “happy birthday” sentiment strip using a stamp from the Dotted Blooms Stamp Set, stamping on black cardstock and heating with white embossing powder.
For this card background I used the same two stamps as the card above, but this time I covered the whole card panel with those images, then added masks to each image and stamped in the background with the Dainty Swiss Dots background stamp.
I trimmed the card panel again to allow for a bright yellow cardstock mat and added more coordinating enamel dots.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
