All Leaves Cards – Simon Says Stamp

Hi there, hello! I finally received my Simon Says Stamp product from the Make Merry release – a release chock full of seasonal and holiday designs – and I made up for lost time by making 5 cards!

Check them out! This month I am working with the gorgeous All Leaves cling stamp and I started by stamping the all-over design onto watercolor paper and heat embossing with gold, platinum and white embossing powders.

My first card is super straightforward with the design stamped with Versarmark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Then for a bit of a switch up, I used Tombow waterbased markers to color in the leaves, mixing marker colors and blending them together with a wet brush.

I did the same for the background behind the leaves, except that I just scribbled a pale blue marker onto a slick surface and picked up the color with a wet brush and painted in the background.

I die cut a greeting from gold foil cardstock and some pale green/blue cardstock using the CZDesign Miss You dies and added the “like crazy” stamped greeting using the CZDesigns Love You Like stamp set.

Next up are a couple of cards made by stamping two panels in the same position, slicing them up and piecing them back together, pairing and matching up the opposite patterns.

Both the top and bottom portions of these cards are stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder. For the colorful panel I opted to watercolor paint the design in a loose and careless style, letting color overlap the lines and then splattering the panel once dry.

The opposite portion of the card is simple white embossing on kraft cardstock – always a winning combo in my opinion. The “kindness” sentiment strip is from the Altenew Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set, and the “thanks and gratitude” sentiment comes from the Big Thanks Words stamp set from SSS and are stamped on random strips of cardstock in my cut-offs stash, with Versafine Onyx black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The last two cards today are my favorite and not just because they are done in my favorite color combo of blue and green! Well, ok yes, maybe the color combo is why they’re my favorite, but I also love the big Maple Leaf die cuts and inserts!

I started by painting the watercolor panel that had been heat embossed with Platinum embossing powder, with all shades of blues and greens from the Mijello Mission Gold paint set.

Then I used the Large Stitched Maple die to die cut from the center of the painted panel. I backed the stitched leaf die with some foam tape to add some dimension and adhered it over a twist of platinum metallic thread.

I used a greeting from the Simple Sentiments 1 stamp set from Simon and heat embossed again with Platinum embossing powder to match the painted die cut. That lovely shade of textured cardstock is from this DCWV Pastels/Bright MatStack.

On the negative portion of the die cut card panel, I first covered the back with more dimensional foam tape, then ran another piece of yummy colored cardstock through the die cutting machine to get the stitched leaf in the center, but then I left it in place and taped the back so it won’t shift or come loose.

Next, I trimmed the painted card panel slightly smaller than an A2 sized card and adhered it to the gray/blue cardstock panel with the die cut leaf. I stamped the “thank you” sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set onto vellum and heat set with more platinum embossing powder, trimmed it to a narrow strip and wrapped the ends around the back of the cardstock panel before adhering everything to a folded card base.

Thanks for stopping by today! The All Leaves Cling Stamp is such a great stamp and I’m delighted to have been able to play with it and share some fun projects with you! Have a lovely day!
