I dug out a few sets from last year that I loved and haven’t gotten to play with again since. The Destination line – the Destination Rectangle Map Die, Destination stamp and dies, Destination Summer and Destination North Pole, as well as Opposites Attract for the Hello greeting.
I started by die cutting an A2 card panel – 110lb cardstock – with the Destination Rectangle Map die, removing the frame and road lines, while leaving the inserts stuck to a sheet of Glad Press N Seal. Then I ink-blended those sections with varying shades of green ink before adding the outline die cut back, trimming it smaller than A2 by 1/8th” and adhering it to a folded card base.
I stamped the layers of the various Destination pieces – houses, trees, vehicles, mountains and clouds and die cut them all, then arranged them to suggest a move of home. Maybe even a relocation from one corner of the country to the other!
I gave some of the little shapes extra dimension with colored pencil shading and darkening and ink blended a bit of blue around the clouds to give them definition.
The “hello” greeting is from the Opposites Attract stamp and dies and is heat set with clear embossing powder and stacked with another couple of die cuts layered behind.
I used a really basic font on my computer to generate the “welcome to the neighborhood” sentiment; Geo Sans, all caps, the thin version of the font.
