Hi friends, I’m back today to share a card that I made for a friend I haven’t yet met! That’s how it is in the paper crafting community, we form friendships over shared interests that sustain and uplift! Today’s hop is a good example. If you recall a few weeks back, my friend Erica and I did an Instagram hop to push our follower-ship over the 10K mark. Since then, Erica has suffered some tough losses, the most recent being the death of a close family member and of course the complications that Covid adds. So several of us in the paper crafting community are doing an IG hop today to share rainbow cards (something Erica loves and is very good at creating) to lift her spirits and remind her of all of us who care and are hurting for her.

I started with the Pattern Play: Diamond Stamp set, stamping onto Neenah solar white cardstock and heat embossing with white embossing powder. Then I colored rows of diamonds in graduated rainbow order using alcohol based markers from Altenew and Copic.
I know I’m not the best alcohol marker color-er, but I have to state that the camera does something weird to the coloring that isn’t visible in real life. Separates the shades out weirdly. My card looks better IRL than in the photos! Anyway. That’s my disclaimer. *grin
Once the coloring was finished and the card panel was trimmed slightly smaller than an A2 sized card, I die cut the Paper Hugs greeting, once from black cardstock and once from black fun foam. I layered them together and adhered everything to a folded card base.
I didn’t have a stamp set that said the exact words I wanted, so I printed them from my computer, using one of the typewriter fonts I have downloaded. It’s a pretty basic card, but that brilliant rainbow background totally carries the day, in my opinion!
