Hello, hi! Welcome back! Today Simon Says Stamp is releasing some new products and I got to play with a stamp set that is just so, so good!

The stamp I used for my cards today is called World of Love and it includes a variety of sentiments that go perfectly with a heart-shaped-globe! I tried two different techniques for these cards, but each involves stamps and ink!
The first card is stamped on watercolor paper and uses plenty of water to achieve the unique blend of color that you see. I started by using a MISTI and stamping shades of green inks onto the world stamp, then spritzing the stamp a couple of times till the color beaded up on the surface of the stamp, then stamping down and holding the MISTI door closed for a couple of minutes with some weight on it to let the color spread and soak into the paper.
When the green inks were dry, I used a large paint brush and lots of water and paint to add the daub a blue ocean background. Then I let that dry and added paint splatters and used a fine liner pen to add the wonky outlines to the shapes. And speaking of wonky, I used this die to die cut the stitched rectangle card panel.
I stamped one of the sentiments in the stamp set onto black heavy-weight cardstock and trimmed it to a narrow strip, popped it up with some foam tape on back and added a heart shaped puffy sticker from Doodlebug Shape Sprinkles.
The next card is fundamentally the same, except a little CASer. Can that be a word? CleanandSimple-er? This time I stamped onto Neenah Solar White cardstock, inking all over randomly with the same green inks that I used above.
Once again, I used a MISTI to stamp because I had in mind to do some layering with the inking. To get the variation in greens, I added some darker edges to the outlines and added layers of light colors to other areas and to get that texture, I stamped with mini ink cubes, not worrying about blending out the edges of the ink pad. Then I stamped over the whole green earth with Versafine ink and heat set with clear embossing powder. That step protects the green ink and allows me to ink over top everything without altering the shades of green trapped below the melted powder, and to get a nice even blend of blue ink around the earth.
I stamped another sentiment from the set onto vellum paper and trimmed it to a narrow strip, wrapping it around the edges of the card panel at an angle. I added more of the puffy heart dots to the card front and matted it with a vibrant blue and green plaid paper that is really bold(!) by the full sheet but works well with this small of a portion!
