Hey, hi! As I’ve been mentioning recently, mail to my corner of the woods (literally, no joke) has been unreliable this summer so even though August is nearly over, I’m sharing a project I made using the JULY Spellbinder’s Small Die Club Kit – the Ornamental Floral Card Creator Dies.
This month’s die offering includes a pair of sweet floral clusters, plus an ornamental frame die which I didn’t use on my card today, as well as a small cluster of extra tiny flowers.
I began by die cutting the floral sprays from Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock, but left the die cuts intact in the cardstock and taped them on the back with low tack tape. I colored everything with Copic markers, blending quickly and not particularly carefully. The colors of Copic markers I used are R21, R22, R24 and R27 for the flowers, G21, G24 and G28 for the leaves and Y15, Y17 for the flower centers.
Leaving the interior bits inside the outline portions of the die cuts made it easier to color everything as one piece. Then I combined 4 different patterned papers of a coordinating color from my stash, and created a color blocked card panel, adhering them directly to my folded card base. I adhered the two floral die cuts to the card front making sure to add adhesive to both the interior and outline parts of the die cut. Then I stamped a greeting from the Spellbinders Fun Stampers Journey Letterboard Minis Artist Trading Stamp set.
