Hey there, hi there! I’m back today to share a card for the Gina K release and I’m using the Free to Flourish Stamp and Die set!
This is a stamp set right up my alley with a variety of individual blooms, leaves and a big frame stamp as well. So, I don’t know if I’ve created a window box of flowers or what, but I know that just about anything looks centered and beautiful when it’s framed!
This card is really pretty simple. I knew I wanted to keep the colors soft and muted, so I didn’t want to stamp a black outline. I thought about embossing with gold, silver or platinum but even that felt too….bold. So I used a very soft, subtle grey brown ink, stamped each image twice or three times to get good coverage on watercolor paper, THEN. I stamped again with Versamark ink and applied clear embossing powder.
I painted the leaves and flowers, mostly with shades of leftover paint in the lid of my palette tin. I die cut the pieces, including the frame/window/whatever it actually is and juggled all the bits around until I had an arrangement that I liked.
I chose some patterned paper from my most recently acquired 6×6 paper pad from My Mind’s Eye, called Gingham Gardens (I really think I need to go order a couple more because I’m going to be sad when I’ve used all this one up and that will be soon!), trimmed it slightly smaller than A2 size and adhered it to a cream cardstock card base.
When I use watercolor paper for my project, I like to use a cream cardstock for the card base. It just feels like a more harmonious color match. So then I popped up the frame die cut with foam tape behind, and added all the bitty pieces onto the frame with strong liquid glue.
I stamped one of the sentiments from the Free To Flourish stamp set on the plaid patterned paper and heat set with platinum embossing powder.
