Hello, hi! It’s the Build-A-Flower release today at Altenew and this month we got to create Hyacinths. You can link to the Hyacinth stamp and die bundle here or to the stamp and die and INK bundle here.
What a beautiful flower Hyacinths are! I’ve never lived where they grow but they remind me very much of the lilacs that have always held a place in my top 5 favorite flowers! I had fun layering shades in all the different colors, especially with the newly released green and purple colors, and these are the cards that came from that.

Besides using a variety of ink colors to create these flowers, I was happy to be able to include Altenew enamel dot embellishments in colors that match the inks.
For this card and the next, I die cut a matching flower and stem from fun foam to back the stamped card stock with, to create some extra dimension. I machine stitched a rectangle onto the patterned paper card panel to “frame” the flower and stamped a sentiment from the BAF: Hyacinth stamp set.
The bloom above was created from a combination of inks, from Lavender Fields to Wisteria and Hydrangea from the new color set. I gave the card front a little something extra without being heavy handed embellishment-wise, by simply machine stitching lines directly onto the card front and letting them peek from behind the green patterned paper (from my stash). The sentiment on this card is from the Handpicked Bouquet stamp set.
Finally, I tried some masking to create the twin flower stems in pink and blue. I also used the coordinating die to partially cut the edges of the blooms on the right and left sides then layered that piece overtop a dry embossed card panel.
