Hey, hi! Guess what! A couple more cards to share! And you thought this was a recipe blog. Sorry to disappoint. *insert smart alec emoji here.
Recently Spellbinders sent me a couple of fun embossing folders to play with. I love embossing folders. I purge my craft space every so often but very few embossing folders ever get weeded out. They’re easily justified because they don’t actually take up much space! These ones are cool because they have some elements on them that allow them to die cut at the same time as they are being embossed. I know, what??
At first I was like, hmmm, I dunnoooo, but dang if they didn’t work like a charm! I did have to add a sheet of card stock to the embossing machine sandwich but that’s no deal breaker, I often do that. For the card above, the design is actually an all-over design but I fussy cut along the TOP edge and flipped it around to make it the bottom. I used the Flora Banner embossing folder for this card and I kept the design simple with a stamped, embossed and die cut butterfly, a stamped fishtail banner and a few rhinestones to finish the card.
My second card shows the all over design of the Botanical Frame die and embossing folder. After embossing (and die cutting) the flower shapes, I very lightly inked the edges and raised design with grey ink and popped up the card panel with foam tape for fun dimension. I stamped the sentiment, added some white flowers and a few more rhinestones to finish.
I love the open area in the center that’s perfect for a larger stamped sentiment, or a die-cut sentiment, or, as I’ve done here, an arrangement of Prima paper flowers that have escaped all craft room purges to date.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
