Altenew May 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Ink/Enamel Pin Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi, hello! It’s Altenew’s May release today and we’re blog hopping to celebrate! If you’ve arrived here from Kathleen Graumüller’s blog, you’re on the right track, but if you’ve jumped into the middle, you can start at the Altenew Card blog and not miss a thing.

There are some super fun products in this release including the cutest enamel pins for you pin collectors out there!

As well, there are three new pigment inks, in black and two different colors of gold! Mine didn’t arrive in time for this project but I can’t wait to try them out!

I have a bright and sherbetty-colored card to share today, made with the Everlasting Happiness stamp set and the Fancy Greetings stamp set from the May 2019 collection.

I began by stamping the smallest of the two stamp circle images in the Everlasting Happiness stamp set, onto watercolor paper, with black ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the sentiment above, but almost touching the circle, and heat embossed it too.

I used a variety of different colors of watercolor brush markers from the Spring Garden and Winter Wonderland sets; specifically: Autumn Blaze, Rouge, Ruby Red, Mountain Mist, Sweet Leaf, Sea Breeze and Limeade. I started by coloring the markers onto my craft mat and using a water brush to dilute the watercolor, then added areas of pale color around the circle and outside the flowers. I started with the greens and blues, but left spaces for the reds and oranges, depending on what I used for the flowers. After I paint/colored the flowers, I used some of the same colors to add to the background blends.

For the little color splats, I added more water to the watercolor smears on the craft mat, then placed a piece of clear plastic packaging material to pick up the paint and pressed that down randomly on the watercolor paper. Anywhere the color was more intense than I liked I used a paper towel to daub it up.

I added a few black enamel dots and matted the watercolor cardstock onto a piece of coordinating patterned paper and adhered both to a cardstock card base.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by 5/15/2019 for a chance to win.

We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $20 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 5/18/2019.

Your next stop on the hop is the blog of Kim Jeffress. You’ll find the complete hop list below. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!
