Altenew Build-A-Flower: Hellebore Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello friends! I’m excited to be joining Altenew today for another Build-A-Flower release blog hop! You should have arrived here from Seeka’s blog, but if not, you can start at the Altenew Card Blog and that way you won’t miss a thing!

The Build-A-Flower sets are part of a monthly subscription that guarantees that you will receive a new floral set each month at a discounted rate. This month we are showcasing the Hellebore flower and I have two cards to share with you.

I stamped each of the blooms used on today’s cards with differing combinations of the Red Cosmos ink family, stamping some starting with the lightest shade (Frosty Pink) and including Cotton Candy from the Four Scoops ink set, and gradually getting darker with each stamp layer.

For the card above, I stamped the leaf layers with green inks from the Tropical Forest and Green Fields ink sets. I die cut all of the blooms and leaves and layered them onto a piece of patterned paper from Doodlebug Design.

I kept this card very simple with only the stamped “hello” sentiment from the Hellebore stamp set and some clear flat sequins to adorn. For a more dynamic look, I overlapped the edges of the card panel with the bloom and leaf die cuts and trimmed off the excess.

For my second card, I once again, stamped the layers of the blooms and bud, with shades of the Red Cosmos family of colored inks, including Cotton Candy into the mix. This time I stamped the leaves with the Green Meadows and Green Valley’s ink families.

I used an embossing folder (Kaisercraft: Stripes folder) to dry emboss the white cardstock card panel and then cut it into two sections. I stamped a sentiment from the Dot Art stamp set in the gap left behind by the top and bottom section of the embossed card panel. I stamped with Obsidian pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I placed and adhered the leaves and blooms to emphasize the sentiment strip gap and added a few more clear sparkling sequins to finish the card.
