The Greetery Destination and Peachy Keen Cards

Hey, hi! I have a couple more cards to share to close out the week and these two are showcasing some of the most recent products released at The Greetery! Unfortunately, mail delivery to where I am currently “camped out” was un-speedy so I didn’t receive product in time to participate in the design team’s blog hop, but I have since had time to execute a couple of the many ideas I have swirling around in my brain.

I’m sharing these cards on the blog for The Greetery Inspiration Friday post as well today.

For the first card I wanted to create something that reflects my current summer home, deep in the north woods (scroll down for that photo). I wanted it to look like a stylized map to show the recipient (who is unable to visit here this summer) where I wish they could be! I began by creating the background panel of “patterned paper” by stamping the Windowpane Plaid stamp onto some pale blue textured cardstock, coloring in the narrow stripes with colored pencil and adding the white plaid lines with more colored pencil.

Then I stamped and die cut all the icons on the card front that represent my reality, using the images and shapes from the Destination and Destination – Summer stamp and die sets. I also cut the water portion of the Waterfront Map Die and ink blended some blue color onto it, then stamped some water ripples.

I love the simple “road” die cut that completely mimics the path/road that brings you into our place! I added that first to the card panel, then built up the rest of the scene around it. Because I wanted a specific sentiment that I didn’t have a stamp set for, I created a narrow sentiment strip with my typewriter and adhered it to the card front.

Here’s the inspiration behind the card above. What you don’t see is the 102 stairs behind the cottage that bring you to the furthest point we can drive with a car and then the hilly, winding road out. (All the Destination stamp set is missing is a little airplane!)

Next up is more of the Waterfront Map dies, but no maps! Instead, I die cut three layers of cardstock, using the same die that I used to get the “lake” part on the card above, and adhered them together to create some bulk. Then I stamped with Altenew inks, and die cut the peaches and leaf sprigs from the Print Shop Peachy Keen stamp and stencil sets, and the Peachy Keen Die set and the hibiscus from the Destination – Summer stamp and die set.

I ink blended with pale blue ink onto the front of a folded card base, then positioned the stacked die cuts and the fruit and flowers die cuts, with foam adhesive on the back to prevent sagging when this card goes through the mail. I stamped a sentiment from the Destination – Summer stamp set onto vellum paper and heat set with gold embossing powder before trimming it and wrapping the ends around the dimensional front panel. I added a few clear sequins to complete the card.

These two cards are just a small part of the amazing products in the last release, so check back for more cards made with the other beautiful stamps and die sets in the July collection! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
