Hi, if you’re here for the Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive, click here!
Welcome back to Day 2 of The Greetery’s Fresh Air release countdown! There’s SO much goodness in this release and I’m excited about today’s projects! For Day 2, we are revealing the Print Shop: Fresh Floral Stamp + Stencil & Dies, Fresh Floral Background rubber stamp, Slim Alphabet die set, Alphabuds: Slim Stamp Set & matching dies collection, Sentiment Starters Dies, and the Alpha Alignment guide. My projects use several of these items listed! Let’s get started!
My first card today uses the Print Shop: Fresh Floral Stamp + Stencil, the Alphabuds: Slim Stamp Set & matching dies collection, and the Sentiment Starters Dies! I can’t even tell you how excited these products make me!! You’ll be seeing them again, I promise!!
The card panel here was created by first stenciling with three coordinating layers of stencils onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and using Altenew inks, and then stamping the finishing details with assorted coordinating stamps! The large pink floral images on this card are stenciled but there are similar stamp flowers with matching dies, so that you can stamp a complimentary bouquet! There are just so many cool options and you’ll see many in today’s blog parade!
After stenciling and stamping the background card panel, I created the sentiment by stamping the miniature florals that go with the Slim Alphas and the Alphabuds Slim stamps and dies. I die cut the “just for” using one of the Sentiment Starter dies, and the Y, O and U from the Slim Alpha dies, adhering them overtop the stamped florals.
Because the background is so vibrant, a delicate sentiment like this can get lost on it, so I opted to adhere each of the components to a piece of vellum paper and fussy cut the outline. Even so, layering the vellum directly onto the background panel still provided a lot of visual distraction, so I popped up the vellum to create more shadow by die-cutting 3 more layers of each of the word and letter die cuts and gluing them in stacks on the backside of the vellum. You can’t even see them and they do the trick of lifting the vellum and helping the sentiment stand out on the card front.
My second card is also “busy” but a little more subdued than the one above! This time, I stamped the background design using the Fresh Floral Background rubber stamp, and some 2nd generation stamping. (There’s a first generation stamped card panel floating around out there waiting to be turned into a card, just you wait!)
I stamped the whole background stamp with four different colors, blurring the edges between the shades of ink, stamped off once onto some more Neenah Solar white cardstock and a second time onto another A2 sized card panel. You can’t actually tell in the photos, (it was too hard to capture, sorry) but I then re-inked the stamp with Versamark ink and heat set with clear embossing powder. It’s a subtle effect even in real life, but quite lucious!
Next, I stamped a bloom and stem combination from the Print Shop: Fresh Floral set, die cut them and glued them together. I used stronger ink colors for this to help it stand out from the subtle background. I die cut the “thinking of” from the Sentiment Starters Die set and the Y, O and U from the Slim Alpha Dies. I used the same green cardstock for the sentiment as I did for the card base for the harmony that brings to a busy card front.
I adhered the sentiment over top of the die cut flower and added three enamel dots of coordinating shades to complete this card.
Click on each of the participating blogs listed below to see what the rest of the team has created with these amazing sets! The release of these items shared today (and yesterday and tomorrow) is Friday, Mar 24 at 10am EST.
Before I get your hopes up though, I want to mention that 2 of the die sets shown today are delayed and won’t be available with the rest of the release on Friday, Mar 27th. Between suppliers moving and COVID restrictions, these are some of the inconveniences, but in reality, it’s only that, an inconvenience. There is a hopeful shipping date of Mar 30, but check The Greetery site for updates.
Be sure to leave a comment here and on the other blogs today for a chance to be drawn for a $50 gift certificate from The Greetery! Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of the parade!
