Hi, hey! Here we go with another card from the Technique Tuesday Greenhouse Society October release – Holly Stamp and Die set! I painted the Holly image very much like the last card I shared here, but today’s card is much quicker and easier!
I stamped the image onto Canson XL watercolor paper and heat embossed with platinum embossing powder, then painted with Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. Once dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut the leaves and berries.
I used a sentiment from the same stamp set and stamped on green cardstock that matches the leaves. Sort of. I heat embossed the sentiment with platinum embossing powder as well.
To create the background, I used an Echo Park Perfect Plaid background stamp and stamped onto cream colored cardstock using a mix of Velvet and Grapevine inks from Altenew. I added the purposely wobbly green line with a Tombow marker.
I die cut 2 more layers of cardstock to back the painted, die cut holly and wrapped the stamp with some thin jute string tied into a bow. I layered the holly overtop the colored cardstock sentiment strips and adhered everything to the plaid card panel and finally to the card base. Once it was all intact, I used Glossy Accents to cover each berry individually with a layer of gloss. I left it overnight to dry. It’s hard to detect in the other photos, but you can see what I mean in the photo above!
