Spellbinder’s Be Bold Color Block Cards

Hello, hey! I have two cards to share today that feature some new Spellbinder’s products that I’m in LOVE with! The Be Bold Color Block Collection includes six different greeting die sets and I’ve used the Thank You and Congrats dies for my projects today.

I started these projects by selecting 9 cardstock colors that ran in a rainbow color order, and used them for both the Congrats and the Thank You card. Spellbinders carries a lovely Assorted Essentials Color Pack that works wonderfully for color blocking projects like this!

I die cut each of the cardstock colors with the Congrats die, being sure to keep all the little interior and outline pieces as well as the alphabet letters.

I fussed and fiddled with arranging all the shades in a pleasing pattern, selecting first, the letters that spell the sentiment before realizing that I really liked the colors of the backgrounds too, and that maybe I should keep the letters plain white!

I used the outline portion of the die cut to contain all the letters and background colors and adhered them in place, directly to the folded card base. Then I die cut the accompanying “yay!” sentiment from black cardstock and adhered it to the front of the pieced-together card front, finishing up with a few black enamel dots.

For the Thank You card, I chose 5 of the shades of cardstock that I used for the card above, and shuffled the order of the shades to produce a different but bright and dynamic order.

I die cut a layer of craft foam for each letter in the sentiment and adhered them to the colored card stock before gluing them to the folded card base. The “full of hugs” sentiment strip is from the February 2021 Clear Stamp of the Month set and suits this application perfectly.

I die cut two layers of white card stock for the “you”, adhered them together and glued them to the front of the stamped and white heat embossed sentiment strip, then completed the card with a single enamel heart sticker.
