Besides sharing with you, the standard photos of my card, I have a little surprise as well! A video! Because I played around with the stamped design a little bit, I wanted to show you what I did.
The stamp design for this month’s Paint-A-Flower release is perfectly sized to completely cover a 4bar card (3 1/2″x 4 7/8″), but I wanted to modify the image to completely cover an A2 size card panel.
I extended the lines of the lattice work with a straightedge and permanent marker, then painted the image with Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers.
I combined two of the individual sentiment words included in the Clematis stamp set, stamping onto vellum paper with clear embossing ink and heat setting with black embossing powder, then tearing the top of the sentiment strip.
There are 2 new sets of artist markers being released today too, and they are some of the most exciting shades in the Altenew Colors families. You can find the official color sample chart here, but in the meantime, below is the color chart I made for myself.
Although they only recently arrived in my mailbox, I was able to make up a quick card to sample the colors for you.
The color families of Cherry Blossom, Green Valley and Pocketful of Sunshine are included in Sunshine Valley Garden – Set F. They are some of the colors I used to color the mini stamp set called Sweet Cluster, the stamp Altenew is currently thanking loyal customers with.
I also used the Enchanted Gardens and Sweet Dreams color families in the Water Garden – Set G of the Artist Markers to color the purple and teal blossoms in the mini bouquet.
I used the Mighty Corners Stencil and the inks in the Green Valley set (to match the leaves) to ink blend the chevron lines on the card panel. With a small floral focal point, it would look odd to just plunk it down onto a card front without giving it some kind of design element to be anchored to. The “sending thanks” sentiment is from the Wavy Roses stamp set.
That’s all for me today! Your next stop on the hop is Seeka’s blog. Refer to the list at the end of this post for the complete blog hop order.
