My first card today combines the Modern Hello stamp set with the Fresh Bloom layering stamp set.
I began this card by stamping the Hello Friend sentiment first. I stamped the HELLO with Obsidian Pigment ink and heat set with clear embossing powder, then stamped the “Friend” overtop and around the Hello with embossing ink, then heat set with Antique Gold embossing powder. Yes, I was too impatient and yes I got gold embossing powder where it shouldn’t be, but I’ve come to terms with it and am going to let it be!
Next, I stamped the outlines of the flower, leaves and mini-flower-cluster from the Fresh Bloom set. I stamped and fussy cut a mask for the bloom so that I could tuck the leaves and small flowers behind.
I stamped the four layers of color on each of the flowers using a combination of Blush, Buttercream, Peach, Rouge and Orange Cream Crisp Dye inks. I didn’t exactly stick to single color families and I rather like the effect!
I used Frayed Leaf, Floral Glade, Moss and Evergreen for the leaves and flower centers, and colored the small blue flowers with B016 and B002.
My second card is a stenciled one, made using the Meadow Builder Stencil Set. There are three stencils in this set and a prescribed way to use them, but I’m happy to tell you that they also work any way you want them to!
I used the 2nd and 3rd stencils in the set and kept the pattern a bit less busy/dense than it would be with including the 1 stencil too. I also kept the card design very simple, to let that lovely vintage Laura Ashley-ness wash over you!
After making this panel I trimmed the edges then added the “thank you” sentiment from the Fresh Bloom stamp set, stamped with Obsidian Pigment ink. I also added splatters to match with the stamps from the Inky Bouquet stamp set, which make adding splatters to your projects so easy!
Finally, I added two strands of thin black twine around the stenciled panel and adhered them to the back between the card panel and the colored mat.
