Hello friends and thank you for joining us today for the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Anemone release blog hop! You are probably arriving here from Laura Jane’s blog, but if you’ve happened here by chance, you can click back to the beginning of the hop at the Altenew Card Blog.
I made two cards for today’s blog hop, one with each of the two flowers in the die set, colored similarly but also slightly different from each other.
I began by die cutting all of the shapes in the Craft-A-Flower die set, from the Altenew watercolor paper pad. I cut all of the shapes at lease once, and the leaves multiple times. Then I started painting the pieces.
I used the Altenew 36 pan watercolor set mixing a variety of shades of purples and deep blues. Following the assembly guide for intensity of color guidance, I painted all the pieces and set them aside to dry.
While the painted pieces were drying, I used Evergreen and Forest Glades Mixed Media Inks to stamp some leaves from the Beauty Within and Weekend Doodles stamp sets onto Neenah Solar White cardstock, then heat embossing them with clear embossing powder and die cutting them with the coordinating dies.
Following the package guide, I assembled the flowers and leaves, adhering them with liquid adhesive. Once the flowers were glued together I went back with dark blue paint to deepen the shadows and let the layers show the shapes more distinctly.
Then I made arrangements with the assorted leaves and leaf images and one flower each and adhered them to a folded card base. Before permanently affixing the components, I marked where they would sit, then positioned and stamped sentiments on each card base with more of the Mixed Media Ink so that they could also be clear heat embossed.
“Wishing you a happy birthday” is a sentiment from the Breezy Bouquet stamp set and “Thinking of You” is from the Just Jasmine stamp set. On each card I added a mix of green and blue or purple enamel dots.
I’m always happy when the same number of steps gives me everything I need to get two cards instead of just one!
Thank you for stopping by today! Your next stop on the hop is Keisha Charles’ blog and if you need to at any point, you can refer back here for the complete blog hop list at the end of this post.
