Hi there friends, I’m back again today with 2 cards that I’m sharing on the Altenew blog today!
Both of these cards are simple and straightforward and look a great deal more artistic than they actually are, thanks to some beautiful Altenew products!
I used the Painted Orchids wide Washi Tape to make both cards, and I adhered a full length of the pattern on the roll, onto white cardstock. Then I fussy cut all of the individual patterns and used them for today’s cards.
For my first card, I wanted to use the whole wreath and make it the focus of my card. I used the Wonderful Wreath Stencil and some Misty Morning Crisp Dye ink to ink up a suggestion of more wreath behind the fussy cut washi tape design.
I stenciled onto watercolor paper and splattered with watercolor paint before stamping and heat setting with Platinum Embossing powder, a sentiment from the Just Jasmine stamp set. Then I used foam tape on the back of the fussy-cut wreath to adhere it to the stenciled wreath and to give it extra dimension.
For my second card, I painted all over a watercolor card panel with paint to match the leaves from the Artist Watercolor 24 pan set and allowed it to dry. I applied paint more heavily in some areas, and less in others.
Once dry, I used the Cozy Flannel Cover die to die cut the painted card panel. Then I used Press ‘N’ Seal to keep all the pieces intact after removing it from the die. With the Press ‘N’ Seal in place, I could apply tiny dots of liquid glue to the back side of the paper and press it to a piece of watercolor paper in order to create the random pattern you see. I stamped a sentiment from the Just Jasmine stamp set, then added more paint splatters and let that dry before moving on.
I combined four smaller pieces of the Painted Orchids washi tape design to create the arrangement on this card. I placed them so that the missing places from the cover die are visible and I used a strong double-sided adhesive to adhere them to the card front. Both cards are cropped to allow a coordinating color cardstock mat to show.
