The Greetery Day 3 Fresh Air Reveal

Welcome back friends, it’s Day 3 of the Fresh Air reveals at The Greetery and that means we’re one day away from the official release when you can shop and order and have these amazing new products for your very own!!

I am beside myself with how adorable this window set with the bricks is!! And there’s another Budding Beauties set for Spring! The official list for today’s reveal looks like this:

  • Fresh Air stamps + die (COMING SOON)
  • Fresh Air: Window Frame die (COMING SOON)
  • Brick Layer die
  • Budding Beauties Spring stamps + die

For my card today I used the Fresh Air stamp set to stamp the window, shutters, bricks, curtain, flowering branch and that cute pot of geraniums inside the window!

I wanted to create a card with some extra dimension so that I could have the pot of geraniums sitting on a sill inside the window. I achieved that by stamping directly on the front of a folded card base, and all the rest of the design is on an A2 sized panel, cropped 1/8″ on every side, and popped up with foam tape.

I stamped the round topped window frame first, then added the shutters, and the 2 brick layers (base color and shadow) to the corner of the shutters. Then I die cut an opening in the window frame. At this point I wanted a bit more detail without risking the card being too busy, so I added the impression of more bricks by running the card panel through the die cutting machine with the rubber sheet and a brick die from the Brick Layer Die set, just embossing the paper, not cutting right through.

I die cut the window frame (left side only), several times to generate enough cardstock layers to stack them all together, and create some bulk! I carefully glued it to the left edge and bottom of the window frame. Next, I stamped the curtain and die cut it, adhering it inside the upper portion of the window.

I stamped the two inked layers of the flowering vine and die cut it out, adding it to the scene in such a way that it appears to be tangled in the curtain. I used one of the greetings in the Fresh Air stamp set to stamp the sentiment.

For my second card, I just had to use the bricks again!! Going for a more subtle look this time, I ran them through my die cutting machine on some light grey cardstock and with the rubber pad again, so that they would only emboss and not cut. Then I covered the back of the card panel with Press & Seal so I wouldn’t lose any pieces, and ran it through the die cutting machine again, sandwiched between layers of cardstock, to flatten and smooth the edges of the die cuts and give it a clean, uniform look overall.

Setting the bricked background panel aside for a minute, I stamped the multiple layers of the tulip stamp and the baby’s breath from the Budding Beauties: Spring stamp set, and then die cut them with the coordinating die for the set. For a soft, sweet look, I wrapped the stems with some white cotton #5 embroidery thread and tied a bow.

Finally, I die cut the sentiment from more white cardstock using the Sentiment Starter dies and the Slim Alpha dies (revealed in yesterday’s post) and adhered them overtop the flower die cuts and the brick background. Pretty simple and straight forward, yet so engaging!

That’s it for me today! Below is the list of all of the DT participants in today’s reveal. Be sure to visit each one for amazing inspiration with these products, and leave a comment for a chance to win a seriously good $50 gift card! The store officially opens Friday, March 27, 10am EST and all of the items shared over the last 3 days will be in the shop, with the exception of the noted dies that have been delayed.

As I mentioned yesterday and indicated at the beginning of this post, there are a few dies in this release that won’t be available right away with the rest of the release. (Thank you COVID-19 among other factors). However, they will hopefully be in stock in early April, so the wait shouldn’t be long.
