Hello, hi!
I’m back today, participating in the Altenew August Stamp and Die release blog hop and I have several cards to share! You should have arrived here from the blog of Szoka Marko but if you’ve happened along mid-hop you can click back to the Altenew Card blog and start the hop there.
From the August Stamp and Die Release I’m showcasing the Smiles and Hugs Stamp and Die set, Halftone Squares Stamp and Die set, and the Script Words 3 Dies. Starting August, all of the new 6×8 and 4×6 stamp sets will come with tri-fold insert cards showcasing lots of added inspiration, project ideas, printed layering guides, and other useful information. Very cool!
I began by using the Smiles and Hugs Stamp Set, creating masks from masking paper and then stamping the flower and leaf outlines to overlap one another, and then stamping the background with the Rustic Linen background stamp set. I colored the images with Faber Castel watercolor pencils and used a water brush to blend the color.
Next, I made a couple of cards using just the leaf stamps and masks and the Rustic Linen background stamp again and coloring them the same way as the floral card above. The “Smile” sentiment on the card above is from the Smiles and Hugs stamp set. The “Sweet Friend” card below uses a die from the Script Words 3 die set from this current release, stacking 3 layers of die cuts to get some dimension. The “Happy Birthday” is from the Floral Gardens stamp set and the “Friend” is from the Mega Greetings stamp set.
The next 3 cards are created using the Halftone Stamp and Die sets.
I stamped two different sizes of the halftone squares using Evening Grey, Silver Stone and Limestone inks and then the leaf stamp from Beautiful Day stamp set. I die cut the smaller square and popped it up with foam tape for extra interest and dimension. I added a leaf die cut from the Create-A-Wreath die set. The “Love and Hugs” sentiment is from the Sketchy Floral stamp set.
This next card was stamped with Moss, Mountain Mist and Desert Night inks and the leaf stamp from Crown Bloom in Pure Graphite. This time I die cut the top square and popped it up. The “So Thankful For You” sentiment is from the recently release Needlework Motif stamp set.
This card uses Frayed Leaf, Sea Breeze and Rouge Crisp Dye inks and I die cut each of the squares overlapping each other. I popped up alternating blocks for extra interest. The “Stay Awesome” sentiment is also from the Needlework Motif stamp set.
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Wednesday, August 22nd for a chance to win. 6 winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 8/26/2018.
As well, I will be choosing a winner from the comments left on this blog post to receive a $30 gift certificate from Altenew. Random Generator will choose a name by August 22.
