The Greetery TGIF Summer Cards

Hello there! I’m up on the blog at The Greetery today with a post for The Greetery Inspiration Friday! I thought I’d share my cards with you here as well.

If you remember, my dual-country-mail-service let me down for the last release and I didn’t get product in time to create projects for the blog hops on reveal days, so I’m getting a chance to play and share now!

For my first card I used two of the florals from the Budding Beauties – Summer stamp and die set along with the jar image from the Just Mason Around set and the watering can from the Sprinkled With Kindness stamp and die set.

I also used a tie die from the Fit To Be Tied die set to bundle the flowers together, and I stamped a sentiment from the Sentiment Suite – Birthday stamp set, with a matching banner die from the Sentiment Basics Die set.

After stamping and die cutting each of the elements, I created a scene by layering them all together and adhering them to a pale blue patterned paper card panel that compliments the colors I used for stamping, and doesn’t draw attention away from the main focal elements.

My next card is a bit of a hodgepodge of stamp sets, sort of like the pot of soup you might make when cleaning out the fridge!

The fact is, I didn’t stamp or die cut any of the elements used on this card at the time when I made this card! Typically, when I’m stamping and die cutting the various images in a new stamp set, I need a few extra tries to make sure I’ve got the layering exactly right. So I die cut a bunch of the corresponding shapes to practice stamping on and the payoff is a bunch of leftover stamped die cuts just waiting to be used somewhere else down the road.

I used the jar from the Just Mason Around set, the green bottle from the Bottled Up stamp set, adding the stamped and die cut ties overtop the jars for extra dimension. I also combined the lemons from the Lemon Blossom stamp and die set, and the peaches from the Print Shop – Peachy Keen, with the die cut and watercolor painted leaves from the Botanicuts Palm Die set.

I found the perfect pastel plaid patterned paper in my stash to support the sweet fruit arrangement. The sentiment for this card is from the Sentiment Suite – Thank You set and is die cut using a die from the Sentiment Basics die set.
